Te Whānau ō Pātiki

Tēnei mātou, e mihi atu ana ki a koutou katoa.

I raro i a Ranginui. I runga i a Papatūānuku, e titiro ana ki ngā maunga whakahī me ngā tini uri o Tāne.

Kei aku nui, kei aku rahi, e te tī e te tā

Tēnā koutou katoa

E kore au e ngaro, he kākano i ruia mai i Rangiātea

I will not be lost, I am a seed descended from Rangiātea.

Te Whānau ō Pātiki is a Māori bilingual unit that sits within the multi- cultural kura auraki, Rosebank Primary. It is our aim as a whānau to help each tamaiti realise their potential. We believe this is best done through providing a nurturing learning environment built on tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori and te reo Rangatira. By the end of Year 6 students should be confident, respectful, resilient and critical learners in the multiple worlds they live in.

There are 2 kaiako currently in the unit and Whaea Bella who has the the position as Kaiārahi i te Reo Rangatira.

Jasmin Hansen-McKay is the Team Leader (Kaihautū)

Year 4-6 kaiako is passionate about developing individual strengths within each child in fun and creative ways.

Pāora Reeder

Year 1-4 kaiako brings many years of experience in Māori medium education and works hard to build solid relationships with each of our tauira  and their whānau.

Bella Mano

Whaea Bella has been at Rosebank since 1995  and has seen her tamariki and moko go through this school. She not only works in Te Whānau ō Pātiki but also teaches Te Reo Māori throughout the school. Whaea Bella holds the invaluable role of kaumatua for our whānau and the kura.
