Last week from Tuesday to FridayRosebankSchool promoted walking
to school to keep ourselves and our environment healthy. Parents who walked with their children to school were invited to breakfast on Friday. Thank you to our
peer mediators who were out early in the frosty air all week to give out tickets
to the parents who walked with their children.
Service with a smile - even if it was freezing in the kitchen!
We love our Nutri-Grain!
On
Friday all the children and parents and children came to the hall for
breakfast. We started the breakfast with a karakia and then the teachers served
breakfast to us. There was a fantastic
variety of cereals to choose. We all sat and chatted and ate a healthy breakfast
together. There were tattoos and prizes for everyone. All the parents and
children on the Walking School Bus joined in as well. Several parents showed
interest in helping on the Walking School Bus to support children walking home
safely. Check out the Feet First website by clicking on the link to find out more about the Walking School Bus.
Smiling nicely might get me another bowl!
Fruit loops are the best!
RosebankSchool
would like to thank MountAlbert's Pak’N Save for their generous
contributions to our breakfast. We also need to thank Fonterra Brands for
supplying us with fresh milk.RosebankSchool would also like to acknowledge
the support from the Auckland City Council in supplying environmentally
friendly bowls and spoons for us to use. This breakfast was a great community
and school event to celebrate World Environment Day and to promote walking to
school.
